Commercial Property Solicitor/Legal Executive – Brighton
We are looking for a commercial property solicitor/legal executive. The role is based in our Brighton office and is to deal with general commercial property work dealing with a broad range of commercial property clients including general landlord and tenant, property investment and also work for a large retail client. You will need to be able to manage your own caseload as part of a growing team.
The commercial property department at ODT is looking to expand so this is a good opportunity for someone to be involved with this expansion and development from an early stage. There will be opportunities for networking and business development.
Residential Property Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Haywards Heath
We are looking for a residential property legal assistant/paralegal. The role is based in our Haywards Heath office and will involve you supporting 3 qualified Fee Earners within the team. Experience is preferred but is not essential. To help you develop yourself and your role, we offer a friendly working environment with opportunities for training and development to help you strengthen your skills and expertise.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have a methodical approach and good time management skills
- Be organised
- Have a willingness to assist and learn
- Have good communication skills, both written and oral
- To multi-task and be able to work as part of and within a very supportive team
- Have good attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Using a case management system, Outlook and Word
The role will consist of:
- Preparing contract pack on a sale.
- Applying for searches on a purchase.
- Applying for a management information pack for leasehold properties.
- Dealing with post exchange work such as transfer deed, requisitions on title, redemption figure, mortgage deed, certificate of title, bankruptcy and Land Registry searches, apportionments on a sale, bill and financial statement.
- Dealing with post completion work including: SDLT return, Land Registry Application, certificates of compliance, notices of transfer and charge.
- Reporting registration to the client, refunding on account monies and closing the file.
- Communicating with clients and other third parties
